Job Overview

TheBusiness Development SpecialistIwill be responsible for initiating contact with potential clients, adding value to theCivicPlusbrand, and creating demand forCivicPlusproducts and services.Youmay occasionallyregister for,orotherwise discover relevant RFPs in our target market, pre-scope the technological requirements of the requesting organization to determine ifCivicPlusis a right fit, and process documents for handoff, accordingly.As aBusiness Development SpecialistI, you will conduct thorough research and utilize multiple prospecting tools to identify entities inside our target market within a specified region which may be in the market for improvements in their various software solutions. You will have constant daily involvement in our CRM - Salesforce Lightning, as well asHubspot, and Office365. You will maintain a high activity count through phone, email and specific social-mediaconnectionsand will representCivicPlusas the first point of contact with potential clients. You will nurture these contacts long-term, when necessary, in order to qualify them to proceed to the next step in the sales cycle. You will identify and track market trends, develop critical reporting and be involved in consistent strategic prospecting andprocess improvement as part of the Business Development Team.While this role is primarily responsible for outbound,strategic cold prospecting, you may also be asked toprovide timely responses andqualityCivicPlus-solution informationin responseto marketing-generated inbound leads.

We'll expect you to

  • Clearly and succinctly communicate the company's value proposition via phone and email

  • Help team achieve all product goals by working in coordination with Product Marketing Managers to develop campaigns, templates and sequences based on specific personas and/or government competitors within various regions

  • Use qualifying conversation strategies to ensureCivicPlusproducts are aright-fitfor the prospect

  • Ensure a clean handoff to an Account Executive, when prospect approaches a buying decision

  • Identify your own stats/trends to maintain a prospecting portfolio with a high conversion rate

  • Achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals

  • Log all communication in real-time in the CRM

  • Demonstrate exceptional core values and a positive attitude, in all situations


What you'll need to succeed

  • 1 yearSales/Communications

  • Salesforce(preferred)

  • Hubspot(preferred)

  • Previous metrics-based role

  • Office 365

  • Knowledge of local-government operations(preferred)
