Position Description: The Nurse Educator coordinates all general nursing education orientation, validation, and in-service activities, acts as a resource person to nursing staff for nursing practice, policies and procedures, and equipment, and coordinates nursing school rotations.# The Nurse Educator is skilled in providing the most relevant education to nurses, to assist in keeping them informed of current knowledge and practice.# He/She promotes the benefit# and opportunities of lifelong learning. The Nurse Educator applies adult learning principles to the overall program framework while assisting nurses to develop skills to assist with professional and workplace issues. The Nurse Educator bases education that relates directly to mission, vision and values of the organization. Excellent communication and customer service skills are a prerequisite. Position Requirements: Education: 4 year/Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required Graduate degree in either Nursing or Education preferred Experience: Previous healthcare experience required 1-3 years clinical practice in an acute care setting required Previous experience in Education preferred 3-5 years clinical practice in an acute care setting preferred Knowledge, Skills: Excellent communication/public speaking/lecture skills required Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize, Microsoft Office, Organizational, and Customer Relations skills required Ability to operate audio-visual equipment preferred License, Registration and/or Certification: Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact required upon hire Healthcare Provider CPR # (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) required within 7 days from date of hire Healthcare Provider CPR (American Heart Association ONLY) Instructor certification preferred Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred Instructor, Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC) preferred Instructor, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred EEO Employer M/F/Disabled/Vet
