Job description
Position Summary: The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of multiple installation projects across Tank Connection bolted tank and aluminum dome product lines. This position works with the construction team to plan and execute all levels of installation projects from shipment through project closeout.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful execution of all Tank Connection construction activities by TC direct labor and subcontractors.
Identify on-site HSE requirements and ensure these are well understood and complied with.
Facilitate continuous communication between installation crews, construction management, and other Tank Connection departments as required.
Work with internal resources in engineering, safety, and manufacturing to ensure successful installations.
Manage and coordinate overall schedule and safety site requirements with customers to develop and communicate installation plans to the construction team.
Provide overall scheduling of field crew activities for new installations.
Develop bid packages and oversee the bidding, contract award, scheduling, execution and project closeout by subcontractors.
Identify and pre-qualify subcontractors and equipment vendors.
Provide support to identify and resolve field quality issues.
Participate in bid walks, kickoff meetings, job site progress meetings, and other onsite activities prior to or during project execution.
Provide monthly receivables/payables forecast.
Understand project specific costs and communicate to Construction management.
Participate in regular project status reporting and meetings relative to schedule, budget, delays and other project issues.
Coordinate review and distribution of installation drawings to field crews.
Assure overall customer satisfaction, including final acceptance of the finished product.
Closeout all contractual issues with the project, including final payment and other documentation.
Interpersonal skills commensurate with maintaining excellent customer relations.
Position requires 25 - 50%, or as required to travel, primarily domestic.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Specifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to effectively communicate and instruct others with complex commercial or technical information.
Have extensive training in or the ability to obtain competent certification in operation of material handling mobile equipment, rigging/crane operation, and other critical operational functions.
Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of the project lifecycle in demanding environment.
Ability to work proactively and independently on a broad variety of projects occurring simultaneously.
Accomplished ability to develop and execute a detailed schedule, budget, and build plan by reviewing blueprints and/or sketches.
Demonstrated understanding of mobile devices, such as I-Phone and I-Pad, with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, G-Suite, and mobile apps, as needed.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Solid problem-solving skills.
Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
Ability to demonstrate and inspect work for accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people of various disciplines.
Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
Education and Qualifications:
BS degree Construction Management and/or related field or minimum 8 years field experience with 2-3 years management experience.
Have current or obtain MSHA training certificate within the first 30 days of employment.
Have current or obtain OSHA-30 hour training within the first year of employment.
Have current or obtain First Aid certification
Have or can obtain a valid Class A CDL driver's license issued within the United States.
Have or can obtain a United States Passport.
Previous experience in bolted steel tank or pre-fabricated steel structure industry preferred.
Previous management experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
