Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.
Middle Market Banking
- Services private and public companies with annual sales of $5 million to $2 billion
- Specialized expertise across industry sectors
Managerial responsibilities include: hiring, development and retention of the credit team as well as participants in the financial analyst program. Coordinates underwriting and overall portfolio management for an assigned portfolio of loans, with a wide range of complexity. Manages transaction pipeline to ensure resources are allocated appropriately. Coordinates with Risk Asset Review, Legal, and LOB Control functions. Responsible for ensuring credit execution is consistent and aligned with required credit policies and processes. Acts as resource for credit policy and process changes and enhancements; responsible for supporting and driving adoption of related changes across the credit team. Responsible for coaching and developing credit team. May also partner as senior resource on credit underwriting and portfolio management as needed.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

- Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of account relationship management experience, portfolio management experience, or a combination of both
- 2+ years of credit analyst experience
- 1+ year of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced commercial or specialty group relationship underwriting and portfolio management experience
- Experience with both Commercial & Industrial and real estate portfolios
- Experience negotiating interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and services
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, loan servicing, risk management and group underwriting requirements
- Experience coaching team members with a wide variety of experience and skills
- Experience managing geographically dispersed team members
Job Expectations
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

MO-Saint Louis: Min: $108,500 Mid: $155,000 Max: $201,500
IA-Des Moines: Min: $108,500 Mid: $155,000 Max: $201,500
