Position Summary: The Accounting Associate at Mercury Broadband will support the accounting department and perform a variety of accounting tasks. These tasks include processing invoices, gathering proper authorization, completing related documentation and reporting functions, identifying fixed assets, preparing reconciliations, as well as assisting with other accounting projects. The Accounting Associate will report to the Director of Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the accounting department.
  • Perform the accounts payable processing for all entities
  • Perform the fixed asset processing for all entities, ensure accurate reporting of depreciation and reconcile [AT2] the fixed asset sub ledger to the ledger.
  • Perform reconciliations to the ledger for assigned accounts.
  • Complete other assigned accounting projects. Perform basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, and reporting.
  • Process transactions and update ledgers.
  • Verify accuracy of documentation and balances.
  • Upload invoices into software and enter relevant information.
  • Coordinate with departmental leaders to ensure proper authorization is obtained and relevant invoices are paid timely.
  • Answer inquiries about payments and invoices from vendors and customers.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical, computational and mathematical abilities
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping programs and related software
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Associates Degree or 2+ years relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and other account management software
