PEC's Municipal Transportation team provides a multitude of services including transportation planning, roadway and bridge design, traffic engineering and construction administration. The Design Engineer position is fully supported by the entire Municipal Transportation team. This is a position that offers personal and professional growth in the transportation engineering field. Design Engineer position duties and responsibilities:

• Prepare Roadway and Stormwater Sewer plans and construction documents.
• Perform engineering design tasks including:
  • Establish horizontal and vertical geometry of roadway elements
  • Design and develop plan and profile sheets for roadway and storm sewer
  • Develop roadway typical section and corresponding cross sections for roadway corridors
• Collaborate with design team on engineering design elements and plan production schedules.
• Provide construction administration on projects previously designed by team.
• Effectively communicate completion of work with the Team Lead and/or Project Manager.
• Prepare quantity take-offs for use in construction cost estimates and bid quantities.
• Review project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.

Design Engineer required qualifications:

• Minimum of a B.S. Degree in an appropriate field of study from an accredited college.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam; Intern Engineer (I.E.)

Design Engineer preferred qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of engineering design experience in the Municipal or County industry.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.
