Job description

Title: IT Procurement Manager
Location: Remote (anywhere except New York or California)


The IT Procurement Manager is responsible for selecting and buying all goods and services for the IT space working with operations to implement the best-of-class IT solutions. This position designs and develops the organization's strategic vendor management program. It is responsible for management of the company's product and service providers and related procurement to reduce operational costs. Works closely with operations, product, and executive teams to determine areas of improvement. Responsibilities include requesting and evaluating quotes, negotiating prices, following-up on placed orders, arranging sourcing, logistics and deliveries.


Your role:


  • Responsible for building and managing relationships with entities and corresponding representatives that supply products and services to the organization.
  • Develop and maintain documented processes for purchasing of products, marketing development funds (MDF), and return merchandise authorizations (RMA)
  • Management of Company Certification Programs to obtain special pricing/rebates from vendor partners.
  • Must be able to negotiate and collaborate with vendor partners to ensure the quality, timeliness, and pricing of their goods and services meet or exceed company expectations.
  • Works closely with operations, product, and executive teams to determine areas of improvement on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate with business unit leadership to ensure the vendor, distributor, and manufacturing partners match up with business requirements.
  • Order products, services, and licenses for the company. Ensure stock levels meet current business demands.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Draft, explain, and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
  • Resolve grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Consult with Distribution Center Leader to optimize warehouse functions while maintaining adequate inventory levels and reorder points as well as identifying and reducing obsolete inventory.
  • Work with AP staff to resolve and avoid any invoice discrepancies
  • Review open purchase order report weekly and take appropriate action to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Attendance at local, regional, and national conferences related to key vendor/distributor partners.


What you've got:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • At least five-years' experience in supply chain management.
  • Technical background or the ability to provide technical expertise to sales team for customer related needs.
  • Proven leadership and teamwork.
