Job description

The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in identifying current and emerging growth opportunities in the market for the company through direct and indirect contact with market players. This individual will support the mission of the Business Development group and report to the Director of Business Development. Successful candidates will be naturally curious and highly skilled in crafting insightful questions to identify unmet market needs. The small and intensive Business Development group will have a dynamic and ever-changing environment where expertise in creative applications design, business strategy, and technology will be utilized daily to drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with industry stakeholders to establish long-term profitable relationships
  • Proactively identify and investigate opportunities for revenue growth within existing and untapped market segments to accelerate future growth
  • Take an active role in creating business development strategy and defining target markets in line with trends, umnet customer need, and BAF brand
  • Establish an expert understanding of the Big Ass Fans brand, product line and applications as well as close competitors
  • Take an active role in moving identified growth concepts into strategies to an addressable market that will satisfy unmet customer needs
  • Research to uncover concepts for winning in new markets through strong exploration into customer segments, buying process, and path to market
  • Work closely with sales leadership to keep a beat on direct feedback from customer base
  • Confidently present to internal company stakeholders as well as potential partners
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or entrepreneurial experience preferred
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in sales or a related field
  • Solid business acumen, self-starter, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
  • Effective and efficient with time management as well as the ability to work independently and with a team
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience using CRM (Salesforce preferred)
  • Positive attitude and flexible
  • Industrial background useful but not essential
  • Travel required up to 50%
