Director of Health Programs
Remote Now Louisville

Position Overview

Use your strong advocacy and lobbyist skills, and the talent to motivate partners and the community, at this esteemed maternal and child healthcare organization, working towards the elimination of health disparities of underserved communities. Thrive in the role with your outgoing personality, analytical mind, and strong networking skills. Process and analyze data to ensure that underserved groups have adequate access to healthcare services. Be the local ambassador of the organization and collaborate with the regional and national offices to ensure that the mission is served. Establish and grow a pipeline of interested partners and organizations to secure the funding to meet national goals.

Responsibilities
* Comfortable in representing the organization in the local community
* Ensure the alignment between the local / state / national planning
* Demonstrate genuine antiracist behavior
* Monitor current practices and process data to identify challenges
* Produce targeted local programs
* Collaborate with national office
* Perform active lobbying and build relations with policymakers
* Plan and execute advocacy events.
* Ensure lobbying is aligned with the state laws and regulations
* Keep updated on healthcare legislative developments
* Collaborate with the development office in identifying and securing program funding
* Participate in the recruitment and coaching of the volunteers Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of experience in maternal and child health is required
* The above experience could be in the areas of advocacy and government affairs or public health programming or working with underserved communities
* Experience in community engagement
* Results-based accountability model experience
* Understanding of the local social ecosystem of institutions, individuals, and the community needs
* Confidence in delivering presentations and engaging staff and key partners
* Identify and recruit lead volunteers
* Masters degree in public health or public administration or equivalent combination of education and experience Compensation
