General Summary

A Teller is a key service and sales position within Eclipse, and is responsible for delivering superior service and a memorable experience to our customers and guests. Refers or arranges financial services to meet customers' diverse needs. The Teller is also responsible for managing a fund of cash and processing a variety of consumer, commercial and small business transactions. Duties range from routine to complex and require considerable independent judgment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently provide superior service while building rapport with customers and guests.
  • Discuss financial needs of the customer and make recommendations on how the Bank can meet those needs.
  • Refer customers to other departments as appropriate.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals as established by Retail Banking and senior staff.

· Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered by Eclipse, taking responsibility to keep up-to-date and request assistance for further development needs.

  • Handle and resolve complex customer problems with professionalism, acting as liaison between other bank departments when necessary.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies.
  • Process all teller transaction including checking/savings deposits, verify cash and endorsements, while maintaining an accurate balancing record.
  • Accurately process all proof work through Batch Capture each day and balance all daily transactions. Retain the proof work in a secure area.
  • Actively learns, demonstrates and fosters the Eclipse corporate culture in all actions and words. Takes personal initiative and sets a positive example for others to emulate. Embraces our vision to become the "World's Greatest Service Organization".
  • Complies with all bank regulations for assigned job functions and designated job responsibilities. Must keep up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, (including those of the Bank Secrecy Act) and complete all annually required and job-specific training.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate logs.
  • Receive wire transfer requests and forward them to Treasury Management
  • Balance and maintain ATM
  • Participate in various marketing and promotional initiatives
  • Assist in administrative special projects
  • Ensure all banking stations are supplied properly.
  • Assess the general appearance of banking floor and keep area neat and professional.
  • Write daily birthday cards and thank you notes.

Minimum requirements

  • High School Diploma, vocational training or equivalent, and customer service skills
  • 1-2 years retail/ or customer service experience
  • 1-2 years cash handling and balancing experience
  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
