Position Overview
Galen College of Nursing is looking for an HR Generalist at our Main Campus headquarters in Louisville, KY to provide HR support to campus employees, including recruitment, staffing, employee relations, benefits, and training.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for faculty and staff at all Galen locations in the areas of recruitment, benefit education, policy & process interpretation, staffing, new hire onboarding, employee relations, data and file maintenance.
- Participate in networking, job fair and/or other gatherings to promote the College, encourage applicants and communicate opportunities with Galen.
- Conducting stay interviews and exit interviews on an ongoing basis and making recommendations to the HR Manager and campus leaders as a result.
- Address employee and supervisor questions about benefits, handbook policies/procedures, and other employee relations as appropriate.
- Compile reports for accrediting bodies and management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of healthcare or higher education field preferred.
- Two to five years in a similar HR position required.
- Experience using strong communication and self-management skills; prioritizing responsibilities and maintaining a strong connection to campuses.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, facilitation or conflict resolution skills, network and relationship building skills required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and research related to student success, retention, and student support.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate both orally in writing effectively with a diverse workforce including faculty, administrators, and staff
• Ability to manage and handle multiple competing priorities required.
• Interpret and communicate HR policies and processes.
• Work efficiently and collectively across all levels of the organization, with contractors, students, and others as applicable.
