Our rapidly growing third party logistics company (3PL) seeks an Inventory & Returns Manager for our Fremont, CA location. The Inventory & Returns Manager will be part of a team that supports a rapidly growing ecommerce program for a customer in the consumer technology industry.

The Inventory Control & Returns Manager will manage, control and direct the Materials, Inventory, Warehouse, and Receiving functions. Manage and coordinate activities to ensure efficient operations in accordance with ISO 9000. This position will assume

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure correct workload planning for materials, inventory, and warehouse and receiving staff. Responsible for supervision, appraising performance, and training & development of staff.
  • Oversee and direct material movements in multiple locations, multiple tasks, cycle count, safety stock, kitting, and storage utilization. Coordinate with Customer Support and other internal departments to ensure adequately supply and efficient movement of materials to meet Production & Distribution schedules.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrity of Inventory database, process and cycle counts. Take ownership of One World.
  • Provide expertise to other departments in inventory, purchasing, work orders and sales orders
  • Establish, monitor and audit operational procedures for verification of incoming shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, keeping of warehouse inventory, equipment maintenance and protection, space utilization and facility
  • Develop audit and monitor programs for cycle count, on time delivery, , claims for damages, and safety
  • Serve as primary interface with customers and related suppliers on materials matters and issues. Maintain customer contact and represent DCL in customer meetings.
  • Improve/develop management systems for monitoring vendor performance.
  • Maintain integrity of Materials, Inventory, Warehouse and Receiving QWI. Train, document and implement in conjunction with QWI.
  • Report inbound freight damages and prepare and negotiate claims
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs, ensuring effective equipment utilization.
  • Maintain Distribution floor organization, safety & cleanliness among staff. Continually ensure equipment and all safety measures are in place, and that all distribution staff has the required safety training.
  • Ensure maintenance of material handling equipment. Promptly address safety issues and ensure all processes/procedures are in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Assure compliance to ISO 9000 and 14001 and the DCL Code of Conduct as this relates to management of these departments. Audit processes and procedures for compliance & quality. Proactively review processes, identify potential problems, and provide recommendations to improve and maintain integrity of the process.
  • Assists in recruiting, hiring, and training a inventory team.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure effective and safe maintenance of Company vehicles, forklift trucks, shipping facility and equipment
  • Provide reports to customers and internal departments per request
  • Perform other job responsibilities, as necessary and/or assigned

PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Ability to move 40+ pounds
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time with good manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment where temperature is affected by weather conditions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years of progressive materials/warehouse experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, with 2 in a supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong inventory management control expertise
  • Excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • In-depth knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems (i.e. MRP)
  • One World experiences a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow-through skills
  • APICS and ISO Internal Auditor certifications
  • Forklift Certified Trainer
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.
  • Bachelor degree preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
