ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Researches legal precedent, conducts investigations, and collects on debts

Prepares legal documents

Examples of Duties

UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION

Composes and prepares routine correspondence, reports and other documents

Researches cases, and contact and asset information

Compiles, organizes and maintains database of legal and litigation cases

Prepares summaries of opinions and decisions

Conducts legal research and prepares titles, deeds, mortgages, liens, contracts, complaints, resolutions and other legal documents

Interviews clients to gather information

Inventories, stocks and maintains law library books, and recommends and purchases new books and materials

Accesses reference materials, queries records and files to display and to respond to inquiries for information

Schedules meetings and appointments and maintains records, queues, and files

Performs related work

Minimum Requirements

Associate's degree

Legal Studies

Paralegal

Related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

Two years of paralegal or legal secretary experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
