Description

Responsible for efficiently and safely obtaining toxicology samples from patients for the purpose of laboratory testing. In this role you will be required to conduct routine specimen collections from patients. The field service technician will act as a liaison between the office and laboratory. Duties will include maintaining the integrity of the collection process, maintaining records for reporting purposes, obtaining initial insurance verification for billing purposes, and packaging the specimens for shipment

Duties & Responsibilities- May include but not limited to:

· Foster open communication between the account and the laboratory

· Keeping a current inventory of each collection facility they are assigned to

· Ensure sample requisitions are complete and all information is correct with the patient's full legal name; date of birth; gender; ordering office/physician; and tests to be completed

· Ensure the integrity of each sample sent to the lab for testing

· Enough sample volumes, sending 2 collection tubes per patient or oral swab

· Ensures all samples are properly labeled and sealed

· Performing additional defined functions directly related to the collection and processing of urine for Thoroughbred Diagnostics. Any deviation from the assigned job responsibilities or any client requests to perform other duties must be immediately brought to the attention of your direct supervisor

· Printing reports for the ordering providers

· Obtaining requested documentation/notes for billing purposes when applicable

· Sending daily log information to the lab after each shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $16.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Morehead, KY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Specimen collection / processing: 1 year (Required)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
