Financial Analyst

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our finance team at Maxim.

This position includes preparing budgets and forecasts. Using data and analytics to perform analysis of current or proposed operations and provides timely and concise recommendations to improve results and performance.

Detailed responsibilities include:

* Prepares and reviews the annual budgeting process from initiation to Board approval for their area of responsibility.
* Build and maintain budget and forecast templates for use by managers
* Prepares short term forecasts based on key industry, operations, and financial factors.
* Performs variance analysis of actuals vs. forecasts to refine the accuracy of the forecasting model
* Develops case studies and performs ad-hoc financial analysis on various aspects of the business
* Participates in the annual long range forecast process which includes developing fleet plans and statements of financial performance on a 5 year forward looking basis
* Assists in developing the monthly backlog
* Create ad hoc templates, reports, and analysis for use by managers to evaluate their businesses, including industry benchmarking.
* Ability to sort/mine large sets of data from multiple data sources (General ledger, CRM, Excel) to identify trends/variances.
* Collects/organizes financial application information and inputs into financial model.
* Possess strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business management; strong project orientation, forecasting, budgeting and analytical skills; strong knowledge of Excel; excellent communication and organizational skills.
