JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, assist with employee related administrative functions, employee relations, and coordination of activities, maintain staffing levels and complete production and safety related administrative functions. Maintain a high level of confidentiality in regards to employee information
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Promote positive employee relations by answering questions regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, and payroll.
· Inform HR Manager of issues of concern regarding employee relations and payroll in a timely manner.
· Under the direction of the HR Manager, assist with documentation related to investigations.
· Conduct pre-screening phone interviews of plant positions and coordinate interviews with Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager and Supervisors.
· Liaison between manufacturing supervisors and temporary staffing agencies when in need of additional personnel, terminating assignments, reporting absenteeism, and reporting timecards.
· Arrange pre-employment screenings, compile new hire and insurance packets, assist employees with completion of forms, and enter new hires in appropriate HR systems.
· Conduct new hire orientation and clearly communicate the company's policies, procedures, and state/federal laws.
· Coordinate open enrollment meetings with HR Manager and assist employees with the enrollment/change forms.
· Assist HR Manager with payroll processing by verifying accurate calculations on timecards, completing payroll worksheet, and gathering paid time off requests.
· Prepare weekly timecards and maintain employee rosters.
· Reconcile employee hours worked against production labor and data entry of all manufacturing production labor.
· Perform monthly safety audits and report findings to Safety Manager for corrective action.
· Assist the Safety Manager with safety meetings by creating flyers and sign-in sheets, and arranging make-up trainings.
· Maintain first aid kits, injury procedure folder, and safety board with safety information and monthly injury count.
· Assist HR Manager with workplace injuries by obtaining status reports to ensure OSHA forms/logs are completed.
· Plan and coordinate employee activities with HR Manager to promote company cohesion and morale.
· Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of human resources experience, preferably in manufacturing or production.
· Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
· Must have strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
· Ability to exercise sound judgment when evaluating situations and dealing with sensitive matters.
· Ability to maintain an effective line of communication with HR Manager.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and effectively communicate in writing and verbally.
· Detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines.
· Ability to perform basic math and accurate data entry.
· Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, basic Excel, and office equipment.
· Must have valid Driver's License.
· Ability to sit regularly and occasionally stand, walk, kneel, bend, and stoop, and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Overtime and extended hours may be necessary based on department needs.
