Job description
The Maughan Law Firm seeks a full-time qualified candidate for a diverse litigation practice. Areas of practice include personal injury, family law, estate planning, probates/succession, entertainment law and general litigation practice. Attorney with a minimum of 0-2 years' experience is preferred, but not required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain case files
- Draft routine legal documents in Microsoft Word for review and use by attorneys
- Compile and prepare draft discovery responses
- Organize relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Prepare medical and deposition summaries
- Conduct legal research
- Prepare for, and attend, depositions
- Prepare and organize exhibits during depositions
- Other duties as assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of firm personnel to foster a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to handle all facets of the cases including client contact and attorney support
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities required to manage multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with overseeing all aspects of electronic discovery.
- Strong e-filing experience is also required
- Strong knowledge of MSOffice
- 0-2 years' attorney experience preferred, but not required
- B.S. degree required
