**Summary:**

This position is considered a subject matter expert in formulation and project management of personal care, skincare, or cosmetic products. This includes all aspects of a formula development including but not limited to stability, regulatory, production scale up and safety assessments. The Senior Cosmetic formulator works individually and cross-functionally across various teams.

**Additional Responsibilities and Essential Duties:**

+ Transform market trends, customer feedback and design concepts into technology.

+ Benchmark and reverse engineer prototype products.

+ Independently create and refine formulas that align to the plant's manufacturing capabilities

+ Test and develop procedures for tech transfer projects with the support of Commercialization.

+ Perform calculations and assessments to convert laboratory scale formula to large scale for manufacturing.

+ Identifies and assist with troubleshooting problems with formulations and compounding, as well as performs pilot batches for new products

+ Observes, records, investigates, duplicates, and validates successful procedures.

+ Understand and develop testing and validation protocols to support Validation Engineering.

+ Generate and update procedures for product registration and documents the customer requires.

+ Work in a safe manner in the laboratory and ensure a clean and organized workspace.

+ Trains and mentor junior formulators to ensure success of the team.

+ Completes and documents required training based on job position as illustrated by Learning Management System (LMS) and training matrix. **NOTE: These job responsibilities can change over time.**

**Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:**

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy, Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, or Chemistry strongly preferred, with at least 3 years of industry experience required

+ Working knowledge of chemical processes, methodology, and techniques, and analytical equipment

+ Organizational and time management skills

+ Verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute detailed and complex instructions

+ Ability to apply basic math skills, such ratio, and percent calculations

**Work Schedule** : 8AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday

**Pay:** 52-62K/year, depending on experience; **RELOCATION EXPENSES MAY BE PROVIDED ALSO**
