Job description

POSITION: This position is for a contract directly with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and is responsible for the protection of government-managed property at a training facility. Valentis is looking for a part-time unarmed security officer who will be on-call as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for processing electronic access control requests

· Monitor CCTV and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) alarms

· Provide assistance when requested for staffing the gate

· Incident response

· Escorts and roving patrols

· Other tasks as needed to support the safety mission for the client

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must possess a valid and current Louisiana Unarmed Security Guard Card.
• Be a minimum of 21 years of age; fluent in speaking, reading, comprehending, and writing English due to nature of the position.
• Prior sworn law enforcement or military experience is preferred, but not required, or at minimum prior armed security experience is required.
• Must be able to pass a background check covering the last 10 years and pass a drug screening
• Must have a High School Diploma, or received a GED

AVAILABLE SHIFTS: If called out the shift will be 6:30am to 3:00PM, Monday through Friday. No overnight or weekend shifts are required unless an emergency has been declared.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.50 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• security guard: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
• Louisiana Guard card (Required)
