About us

Founded in 1980 by a husband and wife team, United Apparel Liquidators has grown into a recognizable name in the South. Originating in a small store in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the company now boasts nine retail locations as well as our online venture shopual.com. Though they are still active in the business today, the owners have begun to pass the torch by mentoring loyal employees and company officers.

UAL specializes in purchasing past season and overstock items from high end boutiques and department stores. We also work directly with designers to purchase their samples and overruns. Check us out on the front page of The New York Times style section.

What does a UAL Key Holder do?

As a Key Holder, you exhibit an aptitude for managerial responsibilities. This position is responsible for opening and closing the store and performing other duties in the absence of management. Other duties may include store maintenance, monitoring of sales, and being a leading example by providing excellent customer service. When the opportunity arises, UAL loves to promote from within and Key Holders often grow into management. Even though Key Holders have some operational responsibilities, sales and customer service always remain a top priority. Key Holders need to have a passion for fashion and the personality to be able to help customers discover their individual style.


What does UAL look for in a Key Holder?

The ideal candidate will have previous retail or customer service experience. All employees must be available to work opening/closing shifts and weekends. It is important to bring an energetic and optimistic attitude every day and to exhibit a professional demeanor and a friendly nature with both associates and customers. UAL looks for candidates that can be coached through constructive feedback and who are eager to learn and grow.


The information above includes but is not limited to the Key Holder position. Employees but be able to lift 30 lbs and be able to stand for the duration of their shift.
