Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst is a vital member of the Land Systems Program Finance team, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. As a key business partner to the Program Manager, you are responsible for driving program performance through timely analysis, financial modeling and the development of solid strategies that deliver profitable growth to the business. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, the ability to build strong business partnerships across multiple functions and teams, and be able to manage simultaneous requests with tight deadlines, as well as have a passion to be a part of the team and company's overall success.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Position can be located in either Hunt Valley, MD or Slidell, LA
  • Oversee program budgeting, controls, performance and forecasting
  • Establish and maintain program baseline budgets and EACs
  • Analyze and investigate performance variances to determine contributing factors and recommend alternatives for improving performance, as well as provide early identification of forecast shortfalls and potential offsets
  • Monitor program expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets and forecast expectations
  • Ensure that program financials that are entered into the system are current, accurate, and complete, and are in accordance with SOX and internal controls
  • Prepare program financial reports to be utilized in presentations (Program Status Reports, Earned Value Reports, etc.) as well as customer required reporting in a timely manner
  • Provide real time program financial status to leadership to support business requirements and decisions
  • Play a key role in finding ways to increase efficiency through automation and continual improvement of processes
  • Support management team with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed
  • Mentor junior analysts on industry best practices and overall concepts
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, degrees in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 + experience in defense industry in an Accounting or Finance related role
  • Ability to use various systems to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Maintain professionalism during periods of tight deadlines while managing concurrent project activities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project controls
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude who thrives in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to independently solve complex problems with limited oversight or guidance.
  • Ability to thrive within a large organization and coordinate across multiple functional groups
  • Possess excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Earned Value Management experience preferred but not required
  • Oracle experience preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
