Job description

Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University.

The Director of Financial Aid serves as an effective and efficient manager of institutional, state and federal financial assistance. The director must also be an effective communicator to all University, state and federal stakeholders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Reviews, establishes and updates policies and procedures; trains and manages a staff of fifteen full-time employees as well as temporary and student employees to implement and comply with these federal and state laws and institutional policies, procedures and regulations; recognizes and supports compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. Insures University awareness of requirement for campus-wide compliance with federal and state laws linked to the Higher Education Act. (25%)
* Remains informed of current federal, state, and university rules and regulations. (10%)
* Plans, facilitates and implements each year's awarding, packaging and delivering of financial aid funds. (10%)
* Responsible for all financial aid reports to the Federal Government, the State, University and outside entities (i.e., FISAP, Pell Grant reports, work-in-progress reports, enrollment management studies, stats for periodicals, etc.) (15%)
* Functions as key member of the Enrollment Management Team; contributes to and supports the goals of said team. (5%)
* Represents the Financial Aid Office and Louisiana Tech University at state, regional and national meetings relevant to financial aid. (5%)
* Provides guidance and supervision for other office employees and is an active participant in professional and community outreach organizations/ services. (5%)
* Oversees preparation and maintenance of web site, publications and consumer information. (5%)
* Prepares budgets, obtains funding, monitors and operates within the Departmental budget.(5%)
* Provides professional input to national, regional, state and campus planning groups and associations. Coordinate with other staff offices and faculty on FA related issues.(5%)
* Visualize improvements in processing procedures to insure that service keeps pace with technology and customer needs. (5%)
* Establishes Cost of Attendance, setup PowerFAIDS funds, academic years, and other setup processes required to award financial aid for upcoming years. (5%)

Master's degree required.
