Job Purpose/Background:

As Greenbacker continues to raise capital and grow our investment portfolio, an opportunity has arisen to join Greenbacker Administration, which primarily provides asset management, financial, operational and administrative support and managerial oversight for Greenbacker. The role will report to Greenbackers Technical Accounting Manager and will have 1 to 2 Staff Accountant direct reports. As a small and evolving firm, the responsibilities will be broad, varied and all encompassing. The role is based in our office in Portland, Maine.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare technical accounting memos to analyze and support accounting scenarios both common and unique to the renewable energy industry, as well as the growing pipeline of Greenbacker asset acquisitions and sales.
* Collaborate with colleagues to improve Greenbackers asset onboarding & offboarding processes.
* Perform and review periodic account reconciliations, variance analysis and adjusting journal entries to track and support investment cost basis across Greenbackers investment portfolio.
* Lead department projects, including developing and maintaining timelines checklists for multiple projects to ensure all deadlines are met.
* Be active in the audit process of numerous Greenbacker subsidiaries to ensure audit requests are delivered in a timely manner.
* Other team, departmental, or organizational duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

* CPA required; audit experience preferred
* 3-5 years of relevant experience
* Strong knowledge of GAAP
* Experience performing accounting research and preparing technical memos
* Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud or other accounting ERP software programs a plus
* Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
* Ability to thrive and manage change in a fast-growing company
* Experience in managing a team of one or more employees
* Analytical and detail oriented
* Proven ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
* Highly motivated, independent, results-oriented, and possesses a strong sense of ownership
