What You Will Do
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Business Development and Proposal (BD&P) Manager to join Gannett Fleming and serve in a key and visible role to help lead the planning, development, and execution of business development support. The BD&P Manager represents a senior staff position and will work closely with Client Managers and Capture Managers to provide cradle-to-grave internal support from client management phase through proposal development phase of the BD Lifecycle Program (BDLP), including managing multiple respective efforts concurrently.
The BD&P Manager must have superior time management and organizational skills, the ability to write and communicate effectively, and experience leading multi-disciplined teams to success. This position requires a high attention to detail, critical thinking, excellent decision-making capabilities, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions while effectively driving teams to produce high-quality deliverables.
The offices for this location are - Baltimore, Valley Forge, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Camp Hill (anywhere we have an office in the Mid-Atlantic)
Responsibilities
Leads the implementation of client management support, capture planning support, and proposal management activities in close coordination with Business Line Leaders, Client Managers, and Capture Managers.
Researches targeted opportunities, organizes dissemination of material, and uses CRM and other platforms to effectively support and track clients and opportunities for the Business Lines.
Reviews client business plans, market research, and capital improvement plans to help support the development of a sales pipeline working with client managers and other BD support.
Leads Capture Management support activities, such as: facilitating workshops; performing gap analysis; summarizing key value propositions and sales/win themes; and performing targeted client/opportunity-specific research.
Coordinates with respective MARCOM staff to define needs and develop strategic plan recommendations for the business line for early client and opportunity pre-positioning activities that will be led by MARCOM and overseen by the BD&P Manager
Manages top-level proposals.
Provides critical feedback on the work product of direct reports and others, as requested.
Participates in training and knowledge sharing activities and demonstrates strong commitment and ability to incorporate Gannet Fleming Business Development Lifecycle Program.

Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility and complexity in business development and support.
Minimum of a 4-year degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or applicable field related to GANNETT FLEMING's core businesses.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience supporting, facilitating, and participating in capture planning support
Demonstrated success in taking opportunities successfully from capture support though and including successfully performing all phases of proposal management responsibilities.
Certification or training in business development, marketing, communications, or sales received through an industry professional organization is highly desirable
In-depth understanding of architectural, engineering, design, and/or construction management services for public and private sector clients.
Excellent leadership, professional writing/editing, communication, and organizational skills.
Extensive experience and understanding of Standard Form submittals for federal clients.
Competency in InDesign and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
