Come join our National Capital team as a Senior Field Development Coordinator! Ideal candidate will be located in the DC Metro Area. This is a home based position.


PURPOSE: Achieve revenue goals by establishing corporate partnerships, organizing volunteers, creating awareness and implementing fundraising and mission-related events. Senior Coordinator will participate in building a network of grassroots advocates, supporters and leaders for Autism Speaks.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leading the Virginia Walk and other fundraising events in the portfolio with an expectation of achieving 100% of budgeted goal.
  • Work with Area Executive Director and walk committee to establish and implement planning timelines, income and expense budgets and participant recruitment/retention strategies.
  • Develop corporate partnerships with businesses to support increased revenue around Autism Speaks Walk, Area Special Events and other fundraising initiatives with a strong focus on the market.
  • Execute Autism Speaks Walk in partnership with volunteer leadership in the Area, specifically managing the Walk Committee, community development and community/corporate team recruitment and retention.
  • Work to achieve the Walk goal through practicing the Walk strategies identified in the business plan, including sponsorship, corporate team recruitment and retention and mission integration.
  • Locally implement global campaigns of Autism Speaks such as advocacy, family services, and community outreach and awareness in collaboration with Outreach Director for region.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of all Area events (walks and gala) and Area administration, including but not limited to day-of event logistics, data entry, acknowledgements and materials management.
  • Make presentations to businesses, organizations and community groups to recruit teams of walkers and corporate sponsorships and manage accounts on a year-round basis.
  • Lead integration of Area social marketing initiatives, such as email blasts to volunteers, constituents and local community, creating fundraising websites primarily for the Walk, as well as other forms of social media outreach that will target potential walkers, donors, constituents who will help support our mission.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: 2+ years' fundraising or sales experience.


Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Organized and detail oriented, with solid administrative skills
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Ability to recruit and manage volunteers
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office including Excel and Outlook
  • Database knowledge (Raiser's Edge and/or Kintera preferred)
  • Must have mode of transportation (automobile, valid driver's license, and insurance is required)
  • Flexibility to occasionally travel within the market, and work overtime including nights and weekends
