Submarine Materials Manufacturing Engineer

Job description

Vision Point Systems is recruiting for a Submarine Materials Manufacturing Engineer. Qualified candidates will work to solve engineering problems related to the manufacturing of large submarine castings and forgings. Expected tasks will include engineering issues related to materials procurement specifications, manufacturing process documentation, quality assurance requirements and associated documentation, as well as additional engineering services support for large metallic castings and forgings.

Requirements

-Metallurgical background is required, ideally with a concentration in ferrous metallurgy.

-Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical properties, and associated verification testing of metallic materials.

-10 years of applicable experience in a related field.

-Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Candidates who possess an active Secret Clearance are highly desired.

-Must have a bachelor's degree in metallurgy/materials science, mechanical engineering, or other applicable field from an accredited university or college.

Desired Skills:

-Candidates who have previous experience at a foundry producing large steel castings, particularly in quality control are highly desired.
