Overview

AceInfo is currently seeking an IT Property Management Specialist to support our federal project, in College Park, MD

Our customer provides a broad range of network and communication capabilities to NWS and other parts of NOAA as well as external agencies. NCEP is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and system administration for several local and wide area networks. NWS networks interface with a wide variety of partners and customers to support the NWS mission by collecting and distributing raw and processed hydro meteorological data and products. All observational data ingested by NWS systems access through the NWS networks and the network acts as a message switch which routes weather related products to meet our customer. The successful candidate will be able to provide support for seamless operation and expeditious operational issue remediation accordingly.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Inventory Control Specialist will assist the Government Property manager in the receipt, storage, maintenance, documentation, and disposing of Government property.

He/She will Perform the following activities when property is received at NCWCP:

  • Meet outside delivery personnel upon notification.
  • Inspect property upon delivery for damage
  • Sign for the receipt of delivered property.
  • Obtain copy of signed receipt and file in property receipt folder.
  • Log property that is received into the property receipt log.
  • Enter accountable property received into the Sunflower property management system.
  • Transport received property to a designated secure storage area.
  • Deliver property to designated property recipients.
  • Document and file chain of custody documentation in property log folder.
The Inventory Control Specialist will perform the following activities when property is excessed/disposed:
  • Prepare required paperwork when property is surplused/disposed
  • Document all property that is surplused/disposed in the property log.
  • Transport property to the loading dock at NCWCP.
  • Obtain receipt from representative that is picking up the property from NCWCP.
The Inventory Control Specialist will also perform the following property management activities:
  • Clean storage rooms each month.
  • Check security of storage rooms on a daily basis and log time of checks in logbook.
  • Assist Federal Property Custodians with barcoding equipment.
  • Conduct and document annual property inventory checks.
  • Resolve all discrepancies discovered during inventory checks.
  • Maintain NCO's Microsoft Access database of storage room supplies that include such items as cables, toner, and various other items.
  • Deliver assistance to Government Property Manager in responding to ad hoc required data calls to meet required deadlines.
  • Complete Government required property training courses.
  • Upon direction of the Government Property Manager remove, destroy, and dispose of, using specified Government equipment, hard and solid state drives.
  • Able to physically lift and carry property 50 Lbs.
Requirements

Required qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience with product/merchandise management and product/merchandise receiving and check in.
  • Must be familiar with product control systems/databases, inventory reporting, and storage room organization.
  • Must be adept at using MS Office software suite. Must have good organization, interpersonal, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Must be able to physically lift and carry property. Experience using loading dock equipment, a plus. Experience with Sunflower database, a very big plus.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.
  • BS preferred, but years of experience may be substituted.
  • U.S. Citizen or Green card is required for the position. Candidate must successfully pass a Federal Background Investigation.
