This role will appeal to analytical yet relationship minded insurance professionals that seek to have impact within a rapidly growing organization. The Business Development Leader, Financial Institutions (BDL) is responsible for establishing the strategic vision for the Financial Institutions segment (FI), developing the end-to-end structure for all sales and operational setup ensuring that strong, effective relationships are established and maintained with FIs across the organization. Develop and implement a strategy for growth and expansion with the FI space, both directly and through leveraging of IMO and BGA relationships to achieve the production growth and profitability goals, and increasing market share. Reporting to, and working closely with the Vice President, Brokerage Distribution & Strategy, this position's primary focus is on business strategy, sales growth, business development and effective account leadership.
Responsibilities:
In this role you daily work may consist of:
Business Development:
Develop and lead the company strategy for growth, expansion and profitability for FI.
Lead Strategic Discovery Process to continually identify and implement growth opportunities within the Financial Institutions.
Identify, evaluate and onboard new FI relationships using a structured and effective approach to minimize ramp-up time.
Work in collaboration with the other BDLs, BDMs and the IMO team to identify and implement FI growth opportunities within their assigned accounts.
Conduct targeted broker-focused campaigns to increase number of active brokers, identifying and appointing new brokers and increasing production from existing brokers.
Digital Adoption:
Lead the company strategy using data to influence behavior change within the FI segment to drive adoption of digital platforms by FIs and the BGAs working with FIs.
Effectively position our digital platforms as industry-leading, clearly articulating the benefits for FIs, their Financial Advisors (FA) and clients, including the advantages over other available options, gaining competitive advantage through digital capabilities.
Maintain a high level of "Digital IQ" including platform navigation and virtual presentation skills.
As a Distribution Leader within the organization, work in close collaboration with the IMO Leader, other members of the Distribution team, other LGA departments and key stakeholders to achieve growth targets (Submits, APE), improve profitability (Placement Ratio), deliver on company initiatives (Digital Application Platform) and achieve target VNB.
Participate in the design and execution of company marketing programs, product and service launches, operational excellence initiatives and assigned special projects.
Work in collaboration with the Business Intelligence Team (BI) to develop and implement an effective approach to track FI production and other key metrics.
Identifies IT implementation needs with FI partner platforms. Partners effectively with IT to design integration paths, assist in prioritization work, and build business cases in support of strategic goals.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's Degree (Marketing, Sales or Business Administration Preferred)
Series 6 and 63 as well as Life and Health Insurance Licensed preferred - or ability to attain shortly within starting.
Preference will be given to individuals that are interested in pursuing industry designations (CLU, ChFC, etc.) and/or advanced degree (MBA)
Experience/Knowledge
5 years consultative sales experience, within regulated industries
Experience and knowledge with thought leadership within with diverse financial services industries preferred (P&C, Health, Financial Institutions)
In-depth knowledge of a broad range of protection products preferred
Necessary skills to be successful in the role
Strong ability to understand, analyze and lead with data
Highly proficient in organizing and conducting in-person and virtual presentations
Confident, articulate communicator, both written and oral
Proficient in use of business programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and Salesforce
High level of "Digital IQ" with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced digital environment
"Boardroom" acumen with ability to engage with and influence all levels including senior leadership
Fiscal management
Highly organized with project management capabilities preferred
Excellent relationship building skills
Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and the ability to accept full ownership of responsibilities
Regular travel required

You will be working from our shared office space with the option to work remotely. We have a great routine between us as a team that enables us to collaborate while also getting lots of work done without distractions.
