Healthcare Communications Project Director

Remote position during Covid then onsite in Rockville, MD

US Citizenship Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance


Position Overview:

The Healthcare Communications Project Director will provide a full range of program management activities to support Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service programs. This position will act as a thought leader and be responsible for providing technical oversight and guidance for all contractor personnel and will closely monitor the work of contract staff to ensure quality and follow through for the client.


Responsibilities:

●Track, monitor, report, standardize, and oversee project cost, schedule, and performance measures in a dynamic environment.

●Provide advice, organization, planning, direction, and management of contractor staff to ensure that goals and objectives of the project, as well as, problem resolution and customer satisfaction, are accomplished within prescribed time frames and parameters.

●Manage multi-functional project development work by identifying critical path activities and facilitating collaboration of technical and operational experts as required to drive progress forward.

●Develop and maintain project management plan, drive schedule, identify, and mitigate project risks, facilitate collaboration of multi-disciplinary specialists, and generate project documentation, metrics, decision papers and reporting.

●Perform quality assurance checks on project artifacts and deliverables.

●Provide technical and administrative leadership of tasks, including financial management and review of work products for correctness, quality, completeness, and follow-through.

●Prepare documentation such as the scope of work, technical reviews, and miscellaneous reports.

●Coordinate financial planning for the office; develop long range investment and prioritization strategies for the client.

Produce executive-level presentation material, status updates, information papers and white papers as required.

●Manage stakeholder engagement; continuously inform and educate stakeholders on planning processes.

●Collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement best practices.

●Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred

● Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required

● Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in project management and process improvement with an emphasis in healthcare

●Knowledge of, and experience with SAMHSA programmatic areas

●Experience developing and implementing national campaigns, initiatives or outreach to increase awareness and engagement of mental health and substance abuse to a target audience using multiple collateral materials and media (i.e., toolkits, brochures, public service announcements, social media engagement, and web-based materials, etc.)

●Expertise analyzing work processes and internal systems for effectiveness and efficiency

●Success developing written procedures outlining work processes

●Demonstrated background and training in accounting and/or financial management

●Knowledge of automated financial and program information systems

●Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Visio and SharePoint

● Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8, 2021, or date of hire, whichever is later
