Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to join our team in Sykesville, Maryland. The main duties of this position include:

The PQE will have a thorough and complete understanding of Quality Assurance regulations and standards. The PQE must be willing to receive training, and become proficient in the Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) standard, and establish an NQA-1 Program and Quality Assurance Plan and implementing documents that meets the applicable requirements of the following:
1. ISO 9001:2015 International Standards Organization Quality Management Systems Standard
2. 10 CFR 830 Subpart A Nuclear Safety Management
3. DOE Order 414.1D Department of Energy Order, Quality Assurance
4. ASME NQA-1a-2008 with NQA-1a-2009 addenda.

Serve as the primary customer liaison between MA and the customer, to include supplier evaluations, customer inquiries and visits, and audit support.
Perform quality & administrative procedure and implementing document development - revision for the control of design, procurement, manufacturing as well as sub-contract activities.
Overall program life-cycle support, including contract requirements flow-down. Planning efforts, to include providing support to the overall effort of generating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and Cost Account Manager (CAM)/ Operations Engineering Manager (OEM) role. Provide representation at program meetings, design reviews, CCBs, and metrics meetings.
Provide manufacturing cell support, including researching requirements, such as workmanship and design, and reviewing test data. Understanding and interpreting specifications and manufacturing aids. Creation and dispositioning of quality notifications and MRBs.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with customers (internal and external) as well as across functional organizations, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to ensure quality standards are in place.
Understand our Quality Management System (QMS) and conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) for identified non-conformances. Conduct internal audits for non-conformance identification and correction. Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable standards, collect Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) and ensure overall compliance with requirements. Facilitate "zero defect" continual improvement efforts.
Possess organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple shifting priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field.
14+ years of relevant experience (12+ years with a related Master's degree).
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Experience with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of NQA-1
Knowledge of Department of Energy 10 CFR 830
Holds an interim or active Secret clearance

Salary Range: 135000 - 202400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
