JOB SUMMARY


The Associate, Public Affairs is responsible for documentation, comprehensive and dissemination of information,
policies and legislature changes that could impact Ascend. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment with daily challenges to
overcome and problems to solve. This individual will strive for curating effective relationships with partners at the state, local and regulator
level.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Attends meetings of cannabis trade associations as Ascends representative
  • Leads analysis of proposed legislative actions and determines the potential impact on Ascend
  • Monitors legislative and regulatory activities, promoting Ascends market position
  • Track legislation and regulations, notifying appropriate departments of pending action items
  • Monitor, report, and documents on multiple municipal, local, and regional legislative calendars
  • Ability to identify influential proposals which could in turn impact Ascend
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with all levels of government (State and local) officials, state regulators and other stakeholders
  • Provide operational support and administrative duties for key leadership such as preparing regular reports, trackers, maintaining online file data bases, scheduling meetings, compiling notes
  • Contribute to developing social media content
  • Write and distribute basic communications materials including news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, newsletter content, statements, and other press materials
  • Handle and process media requests accordingly
  • Assist in developing corporate communications strategy

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5 + years' experience in Government Legislature with a minimum of 1 year in Cannabis
  • Proficient in MS Office, Highly Proficient in MS Excel
  • Must maintain a high level of integrity, personal motivation, and sense of urgency
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills
  • Willing to travel, frequency based on needs
