Zwicker & Associates PC is a national law firm that represents credit grantors within the financial services industry. The firm is experienced in Bankruptcy, Commercial Collections, Consumer Collections, and Litigation. Growing strong since 1991, Zwicker is headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts and maintains office locations throughout the United States
We are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal for our Andover headquarters, see below!
This position will report directly to the firm's Vice President of Contested Litigation. The firm is a national law firm that specializes in creditor rights and debt collection litigation. The applicant must have experience in civil litigation and discovery. The position is one within a team of paralegals which supports the firm's trial attorneys and clients in all phases of litigation in several states.
Responsibilities:
Support clients and the firm's trial attorneys in a variety of litigation-related activities, with a primary focus on drafting and reviewing responses to written discovery, and electronically organizing the documents to be produced with the written discovery
Daily interfacing with institutional clients and trial attorneys regarding discovery, witness calendaring and various aspects of civil litigation
Maintain calendars, tracking reports, and litigation deadlines in support of a high-volume litigation practice
Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of civil litigation and procedure
Prior experience drafting/editing and/or processing written discovery
Attention to detail in drafting and proofreading written work product
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Windows OS
Demonstrated ability to balance multiple assignments and adhere to strict deadlines
Highly organized and detail-oriented ability to follow client and internal procedures
Excellent client relation skills
Ability to work independently and collegially alongside attorneys and litigation staff within a fast-paced environment
Prior experience working as a paralegal representing creditors is a plus
Physical Qualifications:
Be able to lift 5 lbs. or greater
Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times
Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence
Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/ or in writing
Be able to travel occasionally when needed by the most efficient means of transportation
Be able to operate a computer, phone and/or equivalent devices
Be able to complete a minimum of a 40 hour flexible workweek schedule
