Full Job Description

SunVax mRNA Therapeutics dedicates to developing first-in-class mRNA vaccines against infectious diseases and cancers for human health. SunVax mRNA Therapeutics is seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced Scientist/Senior chemist to join the chemistry team in Beverly, MA. The successful candidate will de novo synthesize lipids and lipid nanoparticles in collaboration with our mRNA platform and preclinical team to improve the delivery efficiency of mRNA as well as to manage collaborations and CROs as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Design, synthesize and evaluate novel lipids to support mRNA lipid nanoparticle (LNP) vaccine potency.

· Perform LNP/mRNA vaccine formulation and support vaccine preclinical studies.

· Develop and document experimental protocols and prepare internal reports.

· Collaborate with RNA and preclinical team, and present research results.

· Maintain laboratory equipment functionally.

· Support other functions and other divisions when needed.

· Write technical reports and support patent applications.

· Organize workstreams and complete individual and team objectives to maintain project timelines.

· Supervise and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Ph.D. in organic chemistry or related fields with 2-4 yrs of relevant post experience

· Experience in organic compound synthesis and characterization using common analytical techniques including HPLC/UPLC, UV/vis spectroscopy, NMR and MS is required.

· Experience with lipid synthesis/characterization, lipid nanoparticle mRNA/DNA formulation/characterization (such as DLS-Zeta), and cryo-TEM is preferred.

· Experience in bioconjugation research is preferred.

· Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to provide creative solutions to challenging problems.

· Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of scientific excellence as evidenced by a strong publication record.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $96,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
