Job Description


We are seeking a talented Engineer for Resilience's Biologicals Franchise who will assist in the automation, data acquisition, startup, commissioning and ongoing support of a fully paperless continuous process pilot line for monoclonal antibody (mAb) and other biologic products. The candidate will also provide services to support design and implementation of operator user interfaces, electronic batch records, data historian and other related automation and control systems.


**Job Responsibilities**


+ Work with outside equipment and control system suppliers, service providers, site and franchise functional groups, Resilience digital team, and project management to facilitate startup of the continuous pilot plant, focusing on the automation, control and data management aspects of the project. Support transfer of continuous technology to future GMP and collaborator sites.


+ Participate in project and cross-functional program teams as the automation/control representative of the continuous line, including partnering with internal business and technical leadership and stakeholders as necessary to deliver project results in an efficient manner consistent with RESILIENCE's quality standards.


+ Assist in project procurement and delivery activities including design and configuration reviews, acceptance testing, and commissioning of automation and control systems, including those of skid-based process equipment.


+ Train and supervise manufacturing associates on various shifts during the startup phase of the continuous operation pilot plant and perform automation and control troubleshooting as needed.


+ Participate in the generation of system user requirements documents, testing plans, SOPs, and documentation toward cGMP operations.


+ and work with outside service providers and suppliers automation and control Support commissioning and qualification of facilities, systems and equipment.


+ Collaborating with Resilience's digital team, evaluate opportunities for development of next generation automation, control and data management systems and solutions.


+ Support process investigations, deviations, CAPAs and Change Control events as needed.


+ Ensure safety and environmental measures are taken and appropriately addressed throughout the project.


+ Provide support to Technology Transfer projects as needed, including implementing any required configuration changes and coordinating outside support as needed.


**Qualifications**


+ BS or MSc in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical), or relevant experience in a similar position in the sector of Biotech/Pharma with 3-5+ years' experience in automation or process engineering, preferably in a biopharmaceutical process pilot plant/cGMP manufacturing environment.


+ Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks


+ Experience in sourcing and using single-use disposable process elements.


**Preferred Experience**


+ Hands on automation and controls support of manufacturing operations and supervision of suppliers and outside service providers, preferably in a process development/GMP/biotech environment.


+ Knowledge of digital automation with Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) configuration, field instrumentation installation and troubleshooting, as well as process control experience


+ Additional specific expertise in a field of biopharmaceutical industry (protein chemistry, regulatory, supply chain, production, etc.) is a plus
