Job description

A healthcare biotech company in the Greater Boston area is hiring for a Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will assist with the analysis and reporting of business financial results, trend analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs). Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the Financial Analyst will work closely with business units' financial staff, external reporting, internal and external auditors and other key members of the company's senior management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare periodic financial reporting and analysis to provide financial insight to management and external third parties
  • Participate in the recurring budgeting and planning processes to ensure proper reporting and variance analysis
  • Handle the utilization of services and develop measures to track, trend and forecast related impacts of organizational strategic initiatives
  • Create and refine the budgeting process including development of department specific budgets and related ongoing variance reporting and analysis
  • Develop relationships with assigned business teams and serve as a strategic business partner expert in all finance related matters in that business area
  • Utilize statistics, trends, and large data sets to identify expense patterns to increase forecast / financial accuracy
  • Manage regulatory compliance by understanding critical financial requirements for various regulatory responses
  • Engage in ad-hoc analysis / special projects as needed


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required
  • 3+ years of experience in finance /accounting or related analytical role
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial acumen
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights, PowerBI or other FP&A software systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify resolution of queries / track issues to conclusion
  • Comfortable working with multiple teams across the company to communicate results to management and directors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, self-starter who can work independently within set objectives
