Who we are looking for
The role of the Global Markets Technology ("GMT") Head of COO role is to oversee the GM COO Operations technology solutions as well as the Regional oversight of the State Street Banco Commercial Technology and resources; inclusive of the new implementation of the Foreign Exchange Sales & Trading ("FX STR") post trade processing future state which will include managing resources covering BAU work across post trade processing. The core team is based in Boston and leverages agile software development methodologies and a combination of Wall Street Systems / ION vendor solutions and custom software to deliver capabilities to end users and development teams in a rapid and incremental fashion.

What you will be responsible for
As Managing Director you will

• Coordinate activities with other architecture and development teams and articulating the architectural vision of the program to senior managers and executives in Global Markets and information technology
• Focus on assuring the core functionality, services, and tools developed by the team meet the needs of the COO Organization globally
• Adhere to corporate architecture standards and objectives, and meet the financial and technical objectives of the overall FX program.
• Manage a team in Boston and supporting staff from contract vendors in multiple locations and time zones
• Insure local team complies with Global Corp standards and insures proper risk mitigation across the local applications. As oversight Manager of State Street Banco Commercial technology, understand local finance and employment rules specific to Technology roles and budgeting.
• Have strong and demonstrable cross product/program management skills and ability to communicate effectively initiative status to within all levels of the organization as appropriate
• Have trong knowledge of data usage and end to end data management
• Experience with cross product / cross regional project integration and collaboration
• Strong vendor management oversight from engagement through implementation for new software / vendor solutions. Inclusive of multi-year management capability across FX
• Have deep experience implementing post trade applications inhouse and vendor platforms (ASP and enterprise)
• Have complete knowledge of the software development lifecycle for iterative, agile, and traditional approaches
• Have strong background in release management and understanding of architectural schematics
• Willingness to support 24 x 7 global management oversight
• Have experience with managing offshore and onshore teams

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in financial services, preferably: capital markets and foreign exchange, derivatives, equities and/or securities lending
• 8+ years practical FX Industry and trading experience, strong understanding for global FX products and processes across the transaction lifecycle inclusive of global regulations
• 8+ years experience with overseeing large cross function implementations within FX product space
