Job description
We are seeking an experienced and talented content strategist and leader who will be responsible for setting the US SPDR ETF content strategy and managing its successful execution. You will oversee a team of content marketers and, working in collaboration with subject matter experts across the business, devise a program that enhances our reputation as a global authority in ETFs. This includes the creation, production and distribution of thought leadership, product marketing collateral and educational materials targeting financial advisors and institutional investors.
You are passionate about using different content formats, implementing best-practice approaches for specific tactics and guiding writing teams to craft effective user journeys with story development tailored to each content format. The ideal candidate will help deliver compelling, insightful and timely narratives on investment trends, products and strategies, ETF education and practice management.
As Head of Content, you will:
- Own the editorial calendar and lead a strategic planning process focused on delivering relevant, timely and effective content marketing initiatives. The strategy should successfully leverage content to influence client decision-making, elevate our brand and increase investment professionals' use of SPDR ETFs.
- Develop clear and engaging content consistent with our brand that addresses both client needs and business goals.
- Define the content journey for our website and campaigns, ensuring message alignment that is both relevant and evocative.
- Analyze content marketing data to identify trends and anticipate emerging areas of interest. Conduct content audits and manage content reporting to assess how content performs and form insights to shape the forward-looking content program.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in the development of content and manage a team of writers and freelancers. Serve as a key link between the strategy and research team, the chief investment strategist, ETF product marketing and the broader marketing organization.
- Manage team workflow, ensuring projects are completed on time and in alignment with project objectives and creative briefs. Identify opportunities to leverage content produced in other parts of the organization.
- Manage strategic oversight and tactical administration of partnerships with content providers and other industry experts.
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
- 10+ years of proven content strategy and project management experience in the investment management industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism or related field. Master's in a related field desirable (Communications, Financial Planning, etc.)
- Exceptional storytelling, content development and production skills
- Understanding of all subsets of the investment professional audience
- Strategic and creative thinker who is digitally savvy
- Strong writing, editing and presentation skills with keen attention to detail and unwavering dedication to quality
- Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and under pressure
- Deadline-driven with strong time management skills
- Self-starter able to work both as an individual contributor and in a team setting
- Strong interest in and knowledge of financial markets, the economy and investment topics
