The Human Resources/Payroll Manager will be responsible for all human resource functions including benefit administration, employee relations and recruitment for a one person HR department. Oversees the Payroll Specialist and payroll functions. This position also oversees and supervises the Workers Compensation claims management. The Human Resources/Payroll Manager works closely with the Sr. V.P. Finance to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and State employment laws. Success in this position will require attention to details, organization and ability to effectively communicate with all levels.

Assists managers and employees with interpretation of Personnel Policies and Procedures
Administers benefit programs for the Company and its subsidiaries.
Assists managers in the recruitment process and performs on-boarding
Advises management on Federal and State employment laws and ensures compliance.
Advises management in the appropriate resolution of employee relation issues.
Supervises Payroll Specialist and all payroll functions.
Oversees the maintenance of all employee records (attendance, PTO, EEO data)
Help direct and foster company culture (teamwork activities, employee well-being)
Oversees the workers compensation claims management
Continuously refines all HR/PR policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
3+ years of progressive, professional human resources experience
Strong understanding of HR compliance requirements and labor laws
Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development)
Experience with a 3rd party payroll system (Kronos preferred but not required)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
Positive Attitude
Demonstrated ability and integrity to deal effectively with confidential information.
