Job description
Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) has an immediate need for a Human Resources Manager for Wollaston Alloys Inc. in Braintree, MA, to join our team. Wollaston Alloys is a stainless steel and high alloy sand casting foundry that manufactures castings for the military and power generation industries.
The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and supports operational and business goals in a union facility by providing a broad range of Human Resources services to managers, supervisors and employees, including: recruiting, training, employee and labor relations, payroll, policy interpretation, benefits, safety and regulatory compliance and administration.
Responsibilities include:
Payroll
- Run weekly and biweekly payrolls accurately and timely.
- Identify and resolve any pay discrepancies to ensure accurate payment of wages.
- Maintain payroll deductions current and accurate.
- Promotes an inclusive workplace by advising managers and supervisors on employee relations issues including conflict resolution, performance improvement and related matters consistent with HR policy and practice.
- Available and approachable to address employee questions.
- Conducts investigations into employee complaints, harassment allegations, and other violations.
- Assists in reviewing policies, programs and practices to ensure effectiveness.
- Maintains positive employee relations through communication, support and administration of the performance management system.
- Administers union contract on behalf of the site and work with managers and supervisors to assist in contract language interpretation and application.
- Ensures benefits compliance with union contract for employee programs such as Perfect Attendance and Overtime.
- Administers the grievance procedure.
- Ensures accuracy of union dues deductions and issue payments to union.
- Works with department managers to identify staffing needs and develops and executes recruiting strategies.
- Provides full cycle recruiting and hiring support, including advertising, interviewing, employment offers and new-hire orientation.
- Maintain recruitment records and applicant tracking, meeting AAP plan strategies.
- Performs benefits administration to include enrollment, reporting changes, verifying coverage, and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Works with employees and supervisors to educate, create, process all aspects related to leaves of absence (FMLA, MA PFML, Military, Personal Leave of Absence, etc.).
- Ensure safety training compliance.
- Maintain OSHA safety log.
- Coordinate care for on-the-job injuries and manage workers compensation claims.
- Maintain site safety metrics and represent site for CPP safety initiatives.
Qualifications for the position include:
- Education: Bachelors' degree in Human Resources Management or related field required.
- Experience: 4+ years' of human resources and labor relations experience required for this position
- Previous payroll experience preferred (UKG/Kronos)
- Certifications/Licenses: PHR/SHRM-CP strongly preferred
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Bilingual skills required, Portuguese strongly preferred or Spanish, customer-service oriented, attention to detail, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ability to work with others through complex situations .
