Position: Investment Systems Analyst/Programmer

Department: Information Technology

Report to: Senior Investment Systems Analyst

Location: Boston, MA

Responsibilities:

• Implementation and improvement of new and existing investment systems.
• Work closely with trading desk and investment teams to develop and implement solutions that will enhance performance, efficiency, and workflows.
• Support existing systems.

Qualifications and Technical Skills:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

• Five plus years of relevant software development experience with strong analysis, design, and modeling skills. Financial services industry preferred.

• Knowledge of the Charles River Investment Management System and Charles River API or other OMS preferred.
• Experience with the FIX protocol and a FIX Engine like QuickFIX/J.
• Strong data import/export skills using tools such as CRD Trade Gateway, SSIS and Perl. Formats CSV, TAB and XML/XSL.

• Must know trader/manager/operations and compliance workflows.
• Proficiency in the following Programming languages: Java, C#, Perl, HTML/CSS JavaScript, and Typescript.
• Experience using application/web development frameworks, e.g., Spring Boot, ASP .Net Core, Angular and Electron.

• Proficiency in SQL programming (Stored Procedures, Cursors, SSIS Packages, etc.…) along with database modeling and design, primarily using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Datawarehouse design and ETL experience.
• Report development experience using various report design tools, e.g., Crystal Reports, Active Reports, SSRS.
• Experience using data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.

• Conscientious and detailed orientated.
• Strong understanding of system development methodologies, e.g., SDLC, AGILE.
• Some project management experience and familiarity with tools such as MS Project.
• Experience working as part of a project team and taking ownership of task deliverables within the project setting.
• Strong documentation and writing skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
