Description

The Roxbury YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic and responsible lifeguards to join our team as members of our busy aquatics department. Team members play an integral role in creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for swimmers of all ages and skill levels, maintaining a positive and friendly environment for all. Weekday and weekend shifts available.

• Immediately recognize and respond appropriately to any incident or aquatic emergency.
• Activate EAP as required by developing situation.
• Use objective decision-making and maintain a calm disposition during all high-pressure interactions or situations.
• Maintain accurate records as required by the Roxbury YMCA and/or state and local health department regulations.
• Perform regular facility and equipment checks to ensure safe and effective operation. Notify leadership staff when repair or further maintenance is needed.
• Enforce all aquatic center rules while maintaining a professional image and manner consistent with the YMCA mission and goals.
• Notify Aquatic Leadership or other Y Manager on Duty in the event of incident or safety concern.
• Develop and maintain relationships with all YMCA members, program participants, volunteers, and team members across all departments. Ensure smooth communication and effective operations across all levels of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
