In light of Ginkgo's ambitious growth plans, we are building out the Strategic Operations arm of our Commercial team and seek a passionate and collaborative leader with deep operations experience and a strong business acumen.Beyond sales and account management, the Commercial team at Ginkgo plays a critical role in managing delivery of projects to our customers. In particular, the Commercial team is responsible for forecasting demand for our Foundry teams, driving forward the launch of new projects, prioritizing Foundry efforts in line with commercial priorities, and determining process improvements that support overall efficiency and utilization.As a Commercial Operations Manager/Director/Associate Director, you will play a critical role in building and sustaining systematic processes that support these goals and others, working from both the strategic perspective to define our approach and the ongoing operational perspective to implement them.Your work will be varied and high impact, requiring cross-functional work and collaboration that enable you to act as a change agent and ongoing operations leader. You will work closely with Alliance Managers to understand our customer needs, with Commercial team leadership to understand our business objectives, and with our Technical team to support ongoing processes. You will be both data and process driven, but balance the need for rigor with speed to conceive and implement high impact solutions. You bring a strong operations background and an acute business sense, and you will pair these to drive outcomes. All told, your role will be varied and high impact, with a chance to create major near and long-term benefits to Ginkgo and our customers.Please note: This role has a requirement to be onsite at our Ginkgo Seaport offices in Boston, MA, at least 3 days per week, with the other 2 days being flexible (remote or in-office).Responsibilities Design, launch and sustain systematic processes that are critical to commercial success at Ginkgo, including: how we plan and launch new cell programs, identifying capacity and demand shortfalls across foundry services, running S&OP processes, driving operational efficiencies, generating near term demand in coordination with Alliance Managers, and enabling rapid and effective prioritizationWork collaboratively across Ginkgo to define these processes and manage their ongoing operationsSupport Program Leads to determine operational efficiency opportunities and propose solutionsProvide recommendations to Commercial and overall Ginkgo leadership on our ongoing Operations approaches and strategiesRun bespoke and high impact prioritization and problem solving sprintsBe an excellent communicator, synthesizing complex information from disparate sources into concise and clear narratives, both internally to Ginkgo and externally with other partnersDesired Experience and Capabilities Bachelor's degree (and depending on level will determine years of experience needed) with 3-10+ years (level dependent) of relevant work in a combination of operations and commercial roles (e.g. management consulting).
