Job Summary

Responsible for the fair and accurate disposition of property field claims by determining coverage, applying policy terms and conditions, determining damages, and negotiating settlements. **South Shore Region**

Duties

  • Conducts Field Inspections. Investigates, estimates & settles 1st party homeowner and commercial property losses according to company guidelines.
  • Determines the likely cause of loss and damages.
  • Reviews the policy to determine coverage and issues denials when appropriate.
  • Negotiates settlement of the claim.
  • Issues claim settlement checks.
  • Investigates subrogation claims against responsible party.
  • Coordinates disposal of salvage.
  • Monitors the use of vendors, experts, and attorneys.
  • Maintains current diary on all claims.
  • Performs supervisory role in a CAT situation.
  • Performs other activities as directed.

Qualifications
  • College degree preferred or commensurate insurance/contracting experience required
  • Experience settling first party homeowners' claims or prior contracting experience required
  • Experience using an automated claims system required
