Job description

The Sr. Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for providing financial support to the Consumer Lending and Small Business product teams. Activities include developing and helping to execute strategic and financial plans. They will be responsible for research, analysis, and planning for strategic projects, including new product launches and strategic partnership opportunities. S/he will assist with the preparation of ad hoc presentations and analysis for Santander's executive management team. S/he will analyze actual performance and support the business line in finding opportunities to improve financial results. S/he actively contributes to the success of these strategic initiatives and works with business leaders to prepare business cases and track performance of key initiatives Performs financial analysis, pro forma modeling, etc. Conducts research and analysis to provide management with support and advice for their use in setting and realizing profit objectives Evaluates opportunities to improve scale and competitive positioning Supports development of presentations, executive summaries, and ad-hoc analysis for executive management to support development of strategic plans and initiatives. Builds relationships with business line and functional counterparts to support strategy development and special projects Reviews and communicates an analysis of month-end results, including key drivers of variance to plan, for standard financial and business review meetings Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent field Progress toward CFA a plus 2+ years; Consulting, Financial Planning & Analysis, or similar field Strong quantitative, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to analyze financial statements and clearly communicate drivers of results. Experience with financial forecasting and sensitivity analysis Ability to synthesize data into form that is visually appealing and effectively tells a clear story Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize concurrent workstreams Strong interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient with MS PowerPoint, Word, & Access. Strong Excel skills.
