Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer - SQL, ETL, Big Data

Job Location: Boston, MA or Durham, NC - may be open to Remote for the right candidate!

Compensation: $120K - $150K base plus bonus and RSUs!

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead the effort of designing and developing new data/ETL pipelines.
• Write complex SQL queries to analyze and transform data on a distributed SQL engine.
• Analyze, debug and fix issues with data pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Production Support teams.
• Identify and Implement automation opportunities
• Lead code reviews with peers and suggest/sign-off on changes.
• Document processes, issues, and resolutions as needed
  

What You Need for this Position

BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering related field with 5+ years experience with the following:

• Implementing complex ETL pipelines
• Writing complex SQL queries and ETL processes
• Big Data technology stack experience: Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Hive etc.
• Programming experience with one of the following: Java, Scala, or Python
• AWS or similar cloud computing services experience
• Experience working with large data volumes, including processing, transforming, and transporting large-scale data
• Exposure to Scheduling, automation & orchestration software, such as Airflow or Oozie.
  

Bonus

• Build and release experience (CI/CD)
