Job description
This is an Individual Contributor role. The primary function of this Senior Supervisor, Retail Credit Risk Review role is to maintain subject matter expertise in, and lead and participate in onsite and offsite business unit assessments of the Company's retail lending units(such as small business banking, unsecured consumer lending, credit card, mortgage, and home equity). Specific experience in collections and loss mitigation a plus. Position also will assess overall assetquality, risk and compliance with established underwriting policies, procedures, limits and concentrations. S/he performs testing in a timely manner, ensuring all review quality and client relation standards are met, and courteous and professional behavior is observed in all situations. The incumbent reviews individual loan files and data analytics for compliance with underwriting and default management policy and procedure, and contributes to the assessment of the quality, quantity, direction, and overall credit risk in the organization through planned vertical and horizontal reviews, as well as continuous monitoring of the retail portfolios. Leads and participates in credit risk reviews of the retail portfolios and contributes to the preparation of the review summary, findings, observations and recommendations. Assesses asset quality, status, and appropriateness of existing credit risk controls/ compliance with established underwriting policies/risk tolerance. Ensures appropriate collection, default management, loss mitigation, and foreclosure strategies are in place and followed, and that appropriate charge-offs are taken timely. Reviews required documentation for loan review testing, inclusive of conducting credit file reviews and completing necessary test sheets. Assesses portfolio management and monitoring functions such as retail quality control/quality assurance, credit risk/solvency reporting, and other portfolio monitoring. Follows up and tracks recommendations issued from prior reviews; performs validation of completed remediation. Monitors performance of the retail portfolios through review of various credit metrics and credit risk reporting, inclusive of new originations, portfolio metrics, etc. to identify emerging trends and risks. Performs continuous monitoring of the retail portfolios through observation of quality control and other relevant meetings. Assesses and monitors credit risks related to new retail products and business initiatives.
