Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This position supports the US Accounting department to maintain processes and controls to ensure integrity of financial reporting. As a member of the US Accounting team, he/she will participate in the delivery of reliable accounting services to support the business needs. As a member of the NAMR Finance team, he/she will provide timely and reliable financial and administrative support to the Americas finance organization in the following areas:

  • Prepare monthly accounting journal entries to different general ledger accounts
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
  • Participate in U.S. financial statement review which includes analysis of month over month variances for different revenue and expense accounts as well as compare actual costs to budget
  • Address questions/issues by conducting research utilizing Oracle and Business Objects report
  • Perform weekly audits of NAMR Boston employees' timesheet and expense reports in accordance with BCG's travel & entertainment policy
  • Lead T&E training sessions for newly hired NAMR Boston employees
  • Prepare accurate bi-weekly timesheet reports for US Payroll
  • Perform various Fixed Assets accounting duties including creating FA Budget Advices for local offices
  • Support various internal and external audits by preparing year-end and interim audit schedules for PwC
  • Support ad hoc requests and provide backup to US General Ledger and A/P Team members as needed

YOU'RE GOOD AT
  • Solid understanding of U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills in conjunction with great attention to detail
  • Dynamic and self-motivated with eagerness to continuously learn and to improve
  • Ability to problem-solve and raise concerns when needed
  • Utilize Oracle reports and Business Objects queries to address questions and/or research issues
  • Team-oriented and willingness to tackle variety of assignments from routine tasks to more intricate requests

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, with minimum of 2 years of experience

  • Proficient in Excel and working knowledge of MS Office

  • Experience with month-end close and year-end cycles

  • Experience with Oracle, Business Objects and working with different systems a plus

  • Professional service industry experience a plus



YOU'LL WORK WITH

This position will work with BCG's US General Ledger team to provide accounting support and deliver accurate results to key stakeholders (BCG functional finance teams, auditors and BCG vendors/customers).
