Translational Science Associate

The Associate will work protocol development for specific disease sites for clinical research trials, laboratory projects, and other assigned operational projects on behalf of our client


  • Responsibilities: Works with the Translational Science Team and manages ongoing and proposed research projects and protocols, including study start-up, protocol development, contracts, budgets, and other trial-related activities
  • Coordinates the development of specimen-related inventories, troubleshoots issues, and assists in resolving problems in a timely manner
  • Provides informatics support for biospecimen bank mergers and data harmonization
  • Assists in the maintenance of electronic databases related to lab projects on an ongoing basis
  • Assists with delinquency monitoring pertaining to specimen submissions for both active trials and retrospective studies on archived tissue, including interacting directly with site staff to coordinate
  • Participates in departmental meetings, protocol development meetings, disease-specific committee meetings, planning meetings, conference calls, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Coordinates teleconferences dedicated to active projects for assigned Translational Science Team activities.
  • Interacts with protocol development staff, project coordinators and managers, physicians, researchers, clinical research coordinators, consultants, statisticians, finance managers, administrative and support staff, and all affiliated professionals as appropriate
  • Reviews team documentation and SOPs as needed
  • Manages special projects, as assigned


  • experience: minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience working in a clinical research setting
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency with MS Office and other related systems applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) is a plus
  • Project management experience is a plus


  • EducationBachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in life science discipline and/or life experience. A Master's degree is preferred
