As a Workday services partner, Guidehouse leads full-scale Workday implementations for public and private sector clients. As we continue to grow and expand Workday opportunities in our State and Local Government practice, Guidehouse seeks an experienced program manager to oversee large, complex Workday project deployments for state, county, and local government clients.
Responsibilities
• Manages large public sector Workday projects including service delivery, change management, project management deliverables, third party project vendors, and overall client management
• Manages delivery of large projects and programs; leading teams through the initiating, planning, controlling, executing, and closing project tasks
• Collaborates and works closely with Project Managers, Product Leads, IT, and other key stakeholders and team members throughout the lifecycle of the project
• Oversees planning, staffing, and budgetary matters to ensure timely delivery of project objectives
• Negotiates with Guidehouse, third party and client team members to define the project goals, work content and schedules
• Organizes and oversees technical performance on the contract and ensure delivery of all required deliverables
• Demonstrates proven and extensive project management knowledge, proficiently developing and using project management tools and processes
• Leverages prior experience in delivering complex technology projects in public sector deployment environments
• Leads by example through displays of professional and proactive ownership
• Experience managing and facilitating collaboration for team members with diverse perspectives and able to come to consensus with creative and positive outcomes for the client
• Demonstrates discipline and organization, attention to detail
• Leads and performs standard project management activities including project planning, coordination of project resources, risk management, issues management, scope management, project communications, and status reporting
• Establishes and maintains project routines related to communication of project status to a number of audiences - the project team, client team, Guidehouse stakeholders and project steering committee
• Communicates daily with peers within Guidehouse project team as well as customer project leadership, workstream leads, site leads and subject matter experts (SME's) to communicate priorities, project status, monitor issue tracking and resolution, and deliverable quality.
• Identifies and succinctly communicates complicated problems related to the project or system functionality
• Communicates resource needs and project issues to client management and Guidehouse management
• Articulates, compares, and executes planned solutions and strategies, but is also able to lead team and client in alternate strategies where necessary.
• Travels to program sites as necessary (20%)
• Leads, guides and mentors other team members
• Exemplifies outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and the ability to develop/lead a high performing team focused on the customers objectives
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively engage with project personnel and Guidehouse partners
• Possesses a high degree of professionalism and effectiveness, requiring minimal supervision
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Minimum Years of Experience: 10+
• Degree(s) Preferred: MBA degree or equivalent experience
Required:
• 10 years of experience with 5 years of experience as a program manager in full cycle ERP implementations
• Passionate interest in continuous learning and professional growth, particularly in the project management principles
• Knowledge of SDLC and/or project methodology
• Excellent Communication, written and verbal
• Workday implementation experience
Preferred:
• PMP or PgMP certified
• Understanding of Workday project delivery with either HCM or Financial focus
• Excellent Communication, written and verbal
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills, Visio, Smartsheets, JIRA or PowerPoint
• Business Process Discovery and Documentation
• Knowledge of and experience with state and local government entities
• Workday or other ERP implementation experience in the public sector or related entity
