Associate Scientist, Biochemistry

Job Scope and Purpose:

Our Cambridge based client is seeking a motivated biochemist to join their growing team. The incumbent will help discover small molecule modulators of beta-propeller proteins to support validation of new targets. Applicants should have previous experience designing and performing biochemistry/biophysical experiments to investigate protein-protein interactions using FRET, TR-FRET, HTRF, AlphaScreen, cell biology, chemistry, and chemical biology to characterize beta-propeller protein interactions with small molecule ligands. Primary Job Requirements:

• BS/MS with a minimum of 8 years of comparable relevant experience in drug discovery in an industry setting OR PhD in Biochemistry or related field with 2 years related experience in a biotech/pharma setting.
• Experience working with protein interactions and multi-protein complexes
• Experience with FRET, TR-FRET, HTRF, AlphaScreen, fluorescence polarization and thermal shift assay formats
• Familiarity with general cell biology techniques including interaction and proximity-based assays, immunoprecipitations, Western blotting?
